I just got back from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was humbled by the displacement and devastation the floods have cause families and businesses. After viewing many of the downtown structures it became quickly apparent that it will be many months before businesses can even think about opening and they will definitely need professional help. I saw a sea of emergency restorative companies flooding the area like the water the week prior. No Background Check Requirement For Associate District Court Judges in Iowa?

Iowa associate judge background checks not required

In this very interesting article, you find out that in Iowa, you can become a judge without getting a background check conducted on yourself. If you want to work at the local store, a background check is required, but if you want to sit on the bench and judge others, you do not have to submit to a background check. I think that is a flaw in the system that led to possible fraud.
