Daycare Facilities In Texas Must Do Expensive Background Checks
All day care facilities must now conduct an expensive two part background check on all employees. The check will cost $50.00 and include two parts.
First the employee will be ran through the Texas Department of Public Safety and then they will be checked through the NCIC database. This could put a huge burden on some of the smaller providers. I think if the state is going to require that these daycare providers conduct these checks than they can at least pick up part of the tab. The State of Texas charges $15.00 per check and the FBI charges $24.95 then there is a $9.95 processing fee. At the very least just charge for the FBI check and the processing fee. I can understand that we need to keep our children safe but most child care providers are strapped as it is. We need to help out as much as possible.
