CrimCheck at the 2008 NAPBS Conference
We just returned from the 2008 National Association of Professional Background Screeners conference in New Orleans!
We had a great time exploring the city and an even better time immersing ourselves into the educational seminars regarding the background screening industry.
Seminars attended included topics relating to:
E-Signature and the laws governing the use of them as it relates to background checks
Global Screening Trends which covered the various international laws and regulations governing international and global background checks
Data Protection Requirements of the FCRA; this seminar offered a look into the responsibilities of employers and CRA’s (Consumer Reporting Agencies) in regards to protecting the data of the consumers for background checks.
50 State Compliance Guidelines; we now have access to reference material that outlines every states laws relating to background screening. These guidelines are in two parts, one for the End User, the client and one for the CRA, Crimcheck.com.
All in all, the NAPBS Conference was a great success. Crimcheck.com members have joined committees and will continue to work on building knowledge in the background screening world.
