State Day Cares Employ 1900 Convicts!

care That’s right 1900! According to the Grand Rapids Press, 4 day care workers earned $4643.00 as licensed workers at state day care centers. It also appears they had been guests of the Michigan Department of corrections. They actually received their licence while in prison for homicide, drug possession and concealing stolen property. A small oversight on the part of the licensing officials in a report issued by the Auditor General on Tuesday. The Department of Human Services estimated that 4,600 children had been put at risk because of missed offenses ranging from 428 convictions of child abuse and neglect in addition to several cases involving sex offenses. Nine of the 10 findings were serious enough to warrant immediate action according to Scott Strong, Deputy State Auditor. The errors were found when they ran a cross reference of licensed practitioners against parolees and inmates under state supervision.
