Today the FBI announced the results of an unprecedented five-day nationwide sweep targeting criminals involved in trafficking children for prostitution in the United States. The stings, dubbed “Operation Cross Country,” spanned 16 cities and resulted in the arrest of 389 people and the recovery of 21 children. Read more…

The author of this article has neglected to indicate that it is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act to use credit as the sole determining factor in a pre employment screening background check. Additionally, she failed to understand that an employment application is not an acceptable release for an employer to conduct a credit check on a potential hire. There must be a separate document sometimes referred to as a background authorization form, which an applicant must sign. This way there is not a “hidden” authorization granted by the applicant. I just got back from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was humbled by the displacement and devastation the floods have cause families and businesses. After viewing many of the downtown structures it became quickly apparent that it will be many months before businesses can even think about opening and they will definitely need professional help. I saw a sea of emergency restorative companies flooding the area like the water the week prior. I am sure most of these companies are legitimate but there are always those that will prey on the unfortunate. As a result of this experience we have sent out the press release below. Read more…
